Just the word is enough make one think of the kind of uncomfortable practical underwear we were forced to wear as children.

At All The Wild Horses we like to be tucked up in the winter whilst outside being adventurous.  For this we recommend only one make of base layer and that is because we have tried everything else.

Women phone us from the hunting field to tell us that they have never been so warm and comfortable and because of this thermal base layer, there are people still cosy in the coldest places.
